I am a watercolour and mixed media artist living in rural Somerset. My work reflects my personal interest in the natural world - its history, the imprint of man on the landscape and the transience of nature. The inspiration for landscape painting comes from the things I see every day and from travels throughout Europe. I love the English garden and my floral images arise from happy hours spent sitting amongst the flowers.

I use mainly watercolour and inks on paper in a loose expressive style and apply layers of pastel, oil and other materials to add texture, marks and heightened colour.

I am particularly interested in capturing the emotional response that accompanies being present in the landscape.Through experimentation, reflection and exploration I aim to capture these special moments.
